A significant part of the ministry of Lutheran Social Services of Northern California has always been its relationship to Lutheran Churches of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) and the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod (LCMS), including:
 
-Board representation
 
-Representation at church conventions
 
-Financial contributions at the district/synod level
 
-Financial contributions from local congregations
 
-Regional auxiliaries providing financial support

LSS is seeking to more proactively relate to congregations through a variety of means. Some significant activities we are implementing include:

-LSS staff availability, including the President, for congregational presentations about the work of LSS

-Utilization of technology and list servers to keep local congregations more up to date as to our activities, visions, and future
